[Update] Just removed amd completely with a removal program from this site, and reinstalled the newest driver, and waited for about a minute and it prompted a system reboot and did so, and now it's showing all the correct information on catalyst control center, good ol' 14.11.1 Beta 🙂 yay lol] Weird, for some reason when I look at my details, it says that my Catalyst is still 14.6 and I've tried re-installing to the newer ones like 14.9.2 etc. with no effect. Still says 14.6 on that section. I completely removed amd drivers/control center and so forth and reinstalled the new driver, but it didn't install Catalyst Control Center at all, which was weird. Everything on your list of details screenshot is identical to mine besides the 14.6 Catalyst version, when it's supposed to read 14.11.1 beta instead. I don't get it. It won't seem to update the actual catalyst program itself, or it could just be a weird bug, idk. Any ideas?
Thats normal, you will be on the 14.11.1 drivers if only the Catalyst Version is being miss-reported, as they don't update the Catalyst Version in their BETA drivers, only their WHQLs, so if you had the 14.4 WHQLs on before these, then the Catalyst Version would show as 14.4. 🙂 Oops double post :P

After this drivers my 280X is recognized as 7970Ghz. I went back to 14.7 (as i was using quite some time) its 280X again, strange.

Do you know if issue 404660 is fixed with these ? (GPU gets stuck in a low power state after it was previously stressed to max power)

Reports of these drivers lowering performance over on Overclockers.
Performance dropped a tad for me, anyone else got the same?
I've found how to replicate the issue on my end. This was done after starting the PC, so i recommend you restart your PC then follow the steps to try replicate it. Open up Sniper Elite 3 and run a benchmark, note your score. Close down Sniper Elite 3 and wait about 30 seconds Open up Sniper Elite 3 again and run the benchmark, note your score. For me the first score was 82FPS and all others after that were around ~65FPS at best. Checking GPU-Z shows everything to be normal and that the cards are clocking correctly, they are not throttling at all either.
Performance has also dropped in Far Cry 3, with noticable frame rate loss from 60 to more of 40!
Indeed 😀 I still wouldn't worry if its still not reading that though, as long as everything else reads correctly from these drivers.

Driver is crashing after boot in win 8.1 for me, reverted to previous and all is fine again.

Weird mine doesn't crash whatsoever. Use DDU to uninstall in safe mode and try again.

Seem to install fine on my 5850.

Yes. Mantle was smoother 90% of the time, but with occasional stutters. For me the main issue with Mantle is stability. Also, the flickering issue when using Asus ROG Swift at 144hz was not fixed.
Have you tested with Mantle ? It seems the Mantle Version is the same on this beta driver. I doubt they fix the mantle crossfire memory leak in BF4. I give it a try. But i feel that my patience with AMD comes to an End. After over 10 years using AMD GPU/CPU´s i am nearly done with them. Tired of being third grade gamer. They promote AMD GPU´s with Mantle and BF4 and it simple dont work out. The Memory leaking is so blatant. First it eats the Vram then it eats up the System RAM and you end with stuttering 5 fps in Game. I think they simple dont care. Time to buy a GPU from the Pros @ Nvidia.

I hate to say this but after many years I am too going for the Green team. There are so many problems AMD needs to deal with and I am tired of them. Besides its Ubisoft and their backing of NVIDIA products is enough for me to change side. http://s10.postimg.org/pu0t89j7d/Benchmarks_Dragon_Age_1080p_Mantle_pcgh.png
If NVIDIA backing Ubisoft is one of the reasons you're considering the jump, it just shows what marketing can do. Ubisoft produces some terribly optimized games across all GPU.

I went over to another site's Catalyst 14.11.1 thread; not a single NVIDIA-related post, and all driver-discussion. Not sure if they moderate better over there, or if the community is just better-mannered. Because game developers are prefect; especially Dice. BF4 wasn't a broken mess at launch; it was just the graphics driver being bad. Dice also implemented Mantle perfectly, and AMD obviously doesn't know how to handle their own API! /s I think it's just part of a bandwagon. Or maybe people try to justify their game purchases; you spend $60+ on a game, you probably don't want to admit that game isn't optimized.
Don't forget how fantastic AC:IV runs, and Watch Dogs.

Finally! A Driver that doesn't crash my Powercolor 7990. Assassin's Creed Unity performance is absolute crap though.
Not again!

thats not normal, even on GCN 1.0 did you use DDU?

I just bought a 290x and left the green team. I've had: ti4200, 9800 Pro, x1800, x1950xt, 7800gtx, 8800gt, gtx 260, sli x2 460's, gtx 570, gtx 760 and now an r 290x. Been with nvidia quite a while, not out of any hatred for amd, I just always went that way when I went to buy a card. I will say nvidia is very tenacious as far as features and working with developers. Their drivers are more frequently released. But I can't say the drivers were great, even if released more often. Quality, not quantity is what matters. I bought the current card because amd slashed prices and I almost went strictly to console gaming but seeing a high-end msi 290x for $350 plus a $30 rebate...I figured I'd stick around a little longer and see what happens. Here's the thing I've found with nvidia though. They make features for their cards, game works and all those snazzy names they create for better hair, rounder heads, whatever. All those small difference tend to come at a huge performance price with bugs. Unless you're going to grab at least 2, gtx 970's don't think these new features are going to run on a upcoming gtx 960 or an old gtx 770. I don't know enough about amd these days to speak on their behalf. But...it's like when I hear people bitch about ups vs. fed ex. Does one suck? Sure. But the other isn't doing anything better, you just haven't experienced their flaws yet.

Exactly the same for me. I have just switched from a GTX770 to a Radeon R9295X2 and apart from Crossfire issues the card and drivers have been perfect. I have had to use DDU to get the recent beta drivers to work, which is an extra step when installing, but I don't mind that. I'm slightly concerned about Far Cry 4 having good Crossfire support soon after release as I really want to play that game and it might not run well enough at 1440p maxed out with half my card not working. Fingers crossed the partnership with nVidia doesn't make life too hard for AMD to optimize for it. As for those of you being rude to AMDMatt when he's trying to help, grow up. It's possible to air your grievances without behaving like petulant children. Go ahead and buy an nVidia card if you want. I'm not missing mine and you'll find plenty of people annoyed with them too. Going back to the purpose of this thread for a moment, i.e. driver feedback, I have seen smoother performance in CoD: AW but weirdly the speech in the campaign cut scenes has gone very quiet for me. It reminds me of when you run a Blu Ray disc in 5.1 when you only have stereo speakers. It's like one of the sound channels is missing.

I am sorry I updated these from the 14.11.1's! Very, very disappointed in these drivers! These latest beta builds, do not recognise the hardware IDs of my 280X's, it sees them as 7970's, I know they are re-branded Tahiti XT GPU's, but these are the first drivers to do this! All others up until now saw them as R9 200's. Game wise - LOTR - SOM performance is poor, constant flickering in game, to the point of it being too much of a hindrance and distraction and ruining the game! The 14.9.2's were OK with this game! COD - AW - I am still getting very poor performance in Crossfire, negative scaling as it happens, and the game runs like a PowerPoint with crossfire enabled! It is OK with one card, and Crossfire disabled! I hear performance is OK with these for Unity (pre-ordered) but I think for the time being I will roll back to the 14.9.2's, and create an AFR friendly profile for Unity meantime, at least until there is a future, hopefully WHQL release from AMD. I used DDU latest build to clean up, after using Catalyst Install manager to uninstall, before upgrading to these by the way! I am getting extremely short now on patience for dual GPU support and AAA games!

Has anyone tested the Asus RoG Swift at 144Hz with this driver? I will be able to test tonight after work.
Yes, still does not work.
