I'm playing online game with VSync on, and it's like I've tearing with stuttering in parallel. It's getting worse instead... lol. Went back to 13.4 and everything is better. About the memory corruptions on Firefox on Windows 8... I don't get my hopes up anymore. As it seems they won't fix it ever. The flashing of black artifacts ( dx9c issue ) still there in the same game ( War Thunder ). Rare but still... Personally I understand the guy above who says he's getting more issues on his first AMD card than all his previous Nvidia cards combined... I feel I'm on the same boat. Perhaps it's the fact that the specific AMD issues are getting more often in our way. Bad luck but...

It's the well known flashing/flickering -call it as you'd like. You know, I got many videos of this specific problem. Now that you mention it, the same game has bigger problem on fade effects, indeed... And it has a lot of fade effects due to its open nature. I thought it was related to something called "z-fighting" or so... but I can't be sure. I have no video on War Thunder, because as I said it's rare ( the flickering, not the fade-effects ) and I don't want to keep recording until I get it. It's enough and unfortunate that I see it.

What is AMD Feature Manager on right click context menu ? Just says my device is not supported after loading a full screen AMD background http://hostr.co/file/piBqhFb4IeNU/Untitled.jpg
Interesting. I don't have it though. But, I need to do a full reinstall as I upated the driver, not reinstalled it from scratch. Plus, I "down"graded to windows 8 from 7 without formating. Would be cool if someone knows about that new "feature" as I'm very curious too.

With this driver and an HD7950 and i5 2500K, performance in Metro Last Light (Medium settings without AA) is not bad, it averages way above 60 fps, BUT there's a lot of object related micro-stuttering, even if I lock the framerate at or below 60 fps and turn VSync on. VSync off is unacceptable as it produces massive screen tearing. My son has a 660 Ti with the same motherboard and CPU, yet he does not have this problem. What I find strange is that, to my knowledge, AMD has done nothing to improve this game's performance. No mention of the game in any CAP of Beta driver. Nothing. Or am I wrong?
What do you mean by object-related micro-stuttering?

Im gona hazzard a guess and say, he probably gets that as hes got an AMD CPU as well, as ive not got it, never had it either 🙂

Yeah, you are totally right. I figured it out after posting that. Although, it's weird that it does not work for him.

Freezing when Idle Computer freezes when display is turned off in stand by after 10 minutes with this driver. Anyone else having this problem too?

I have a Sapphire 7850 1 GB OC edition: 900/1200 MHz by default. Installed Catalyst 13.6b2. System hangs after graphic artifacts using MSAA.....with no MSAA it's all right. It's a known issue?
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/105/105207.jpg
Are you enabling MSAA in catalyst, or in game/engine? Doing so in Catalyst is potentially risky, as it may collide with some engines, or you might to enable MSAA twice - one in game, one in catalyst and that is certainly wrong setting. MSAA alone is not causing such trouble.
Metro 2033 + all settings maxed + AAA (Metro's own AA) -> no problem Metro 2033 + all settings maxed + MSAA (in game option) -> artifacts+system freeze Artifacts appear after few seconds. Same thing for Furmark/EVGA OC Scanner

That looks more like a HW problem. Overheating.
Instantaneuos overheating? No problem with no AA/postprocess filters.....GPGPU applications (Collatz, RatGPU, etc.) works like a charm for minutes and minutes. Which GCN GPU components are related to MSAA or postprocess filters? I have similar problem with SMAA of SweetFX suite.

try underclocking the card and see if ti still does it.

Lowering frequency solves the problem.....increasing +5% the powerlimit seems too. I hate factory OC 😀

Thanks!

hi guys just to share my experience, i have bought a gigabyte 7950 windforce thats oced to 900-1000 boost as default, now ive been trying drivers etc and i had some lockups bluscreens, so being the person that i am, i just had to open up my video card to see if it was loose or somthing, well the thing is i found out that gigabytes thermal paste was bad, like it was done like a cookie, it would just tear off the gpu. so i grabbed my AS5 pasted into my gpu and voila, i have yet to counter a bluescreen or any other issues, ive also noticed that some parts of the cooling where loose, i tighten that up too. so what i mean by this, i advice you to check and dissasemble your video card try to see if anything is loose or if the thermal paste is of bad quality. after my thermals was 80+c in furmark @ full load (heated up 30min run) Now they are 60 stable in furmark @ full load (heated up 30min run) so my findings are that maybe these heat spikes while gaming gave me the bosd's and it was because of faulty thermal paste.

If you are usuing the PS in your sig, its a bit old and small and is known to run extremely hot. Might want to think about swapping it out and see if that helps.

Yeah, maybe it's a PSU related problem too. With GPU@850 MHz (default 900) and powerlimit raised to +10% MSAA works and no more crashes.....

Man, I had something similar (I think). I fired up the MotoGP '13 demo for the first time, had 2x FSAA enabled (that's how it's written in-game) and all three GPUs were capping out at their maximum and I was getting severe crashes... this is all with an overclock that's managed to withstand hours of FurMark quite successfully. Disabled aforementioned in-game AA, ran again and it was running at around 50% on average GPU usage across all three cores. I'm thinking something must be a bit funky with these drivers, because I've honestly never, ever seen it get to the stage where I get those corruption blocks on the screen... even (like I said) with FurMark a short while ago.

Hm. Catalyst 13.6 beta and beta 2 are causing some serious stuttering to me. Few seconds its OK, then it stutters for 500ms +- and again few seconds ok... Strange... Results: Catalyst 13.4 WHQL http://www.3dmark.com/fs/533929 Stutterfree Catalyst 13.6 Beta2 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/530952 With stuttering
try using revo to uninstall your current drivers and cleanup leftovers, then install latest beta's and see if it helps 🙂

Your full of **** buddy i worked in a retail shop for 7 years and i don't think we did much warranty for that card or many components that weren't ****ed but users, Only card we had problems with was a OC 8800GTX ultra MSI brand which came back twice and still didn't want to run at its default speed. maybe you and your friends should stop building PC and get a PC technician to do it for ya.
funny, I worked in a shop back then, and we saw a good number of gtx cards come back, and the 8800gt's where well known for cooking themselves with the stock nvidia cooler......horrible
