Ima bout ready to pull my hair out. Tried to install both 13.4 and 13.5, neither will install.. It just says installation incomplete. Been tryin for 2 hours now.. Nothing.. Finally i went back to 13.2 beta 7 and everything installed just fine.. Tried using the AMD cleaning utility and without just using ccleaner.. When I go to click on the "log" it will not pull it up so i have no idea what is going on.. Also tried downloading them right from the AMD website with my video card type and windows 7 64bit.. I want to try this new 13.5, cause it should help with this racing game MTA. I always get spikes here and there and causes the game to sometimes, make the person in front me me fall back hit me and dead stop me. If you know what i mean.. So what should I try next. I have deleted the ATi utility all together and deleted both ati and all amd software too fyi.

Until you find a way to get the main installer to work, you could extract the installer and manually update the driver from device manager

Tried this, did not work.

SUMMARIZING The AMD Catalyst™ 13.4 WHQL driver is the certified version of 13.3 Beta, while the AMD Catalyst™ 13.5 Beta driver extends the code in both of these drivers with additional fixes/enhancements. And, more importantly, both drivers are available immediately for Microsoft Windows®-based PCs! Pretty much says it all.

^ This. These DO contain fixes that are NOT in 13.3b3 or 13.4 whql releases EVEN though the internal driver numbers are older. The compile date is newer than both of those drivers. I shall keep these until I hit any problems, but none so far.

These require a thourough scrubbing if you half ass it, you will have issues.

I really hate that Benchmark3D is dead. Rather than comparing time stamps and version numbers, I would just visit the site and see if the driver is better or not.

So to clarify, this driver (13.5b2) *isn't* the same as the prototype driver used in their review, is it? That's best I can gather from trying to read that article, but I'm not 100% sure.

The 4% improvement in Bioshock is there. But I assume you get the same thing with 13.3b3/13.4 + 13.4 caps.

I just installed the 13.5 Beta and ran into an unusual problem with CCC. When I try to change the video settings the CCC GUI kin of disintegrates, like this; http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/6462/2013042502h1737.png Has anyone else noticed this ?

I have this issue with every 13.x driver. :bang:

If you already have 13.4 installed than just install the latest 13.4 caps. If not, than go for 13.5 beta.

These are better. Install these and the caps.

Caps are already included in 13.5 beta. No need to install them. Use them if you have 13.4 or lower.

Fantastic, thanks. I was kinda hoping it was, so I might wait to see what further impressions are before upgrading from 13.3b3. I'm still not sure how many benefits there are over what I'm running now. If it was that proto driver, it would've been a no-brainer! Still, that's a great article PCPer have done. They've really been on top of this latency thing with some great explanatory videos and articles. Kudos to them. And G3D, obviously 🙂

Caps are already included in 13.5 beta. No need to install them. Use them if you have 13.4 or lower.

Anyone getting weird texture glitches in games with these. Its completely random, happened in a range of games. Always seems to happen on the outer edge of the screen. Its like a chequered black and white flash where the texture should be its only there for a split second and its gone... Hope this is not artifacts 🙁 Its weird it seems to go away after I reinstall DX?

Only played Bioshock and World of Tanks, no issues.

Strange, its gone now I reinstalled DX. I checked VRM temps in GPU-Z whilst running Kombuster @ 720p 8xMSAA and GPU maxed out at 63*c and the VRM's both maxed out at 69*c so they are not overheating. Will keep and eye and see if the problem comes back but it seems ok now after DX reinstall.

The 13.5beta2 is not the prototype drivers .. some reviewers have mixed the thing ( some had 13.5beta 2 and beta 5 ).

I just tried out Cat13.5 B2 driver on my main rig in my profile, I dunno about the 13.4WHQL driver, but with 13.3, I can only manage a mix of mostly Medium and High to be able to play Crysis 3 and still see only ~25fps and above. With the 13.5 B2, man, what a difference! At the same setting, I'm seeing >70fps, I've upped ingame setting to High and still seeing about 50+fps and there's no jerkiness, stutter so far, Will try Very High and see what happens, but no MSAA though, not worth the framerate hit.
