My r9 280x keeps showing up as a 7900 when I try to install these drivers so I updated everything but the graphics driver (sata, pci bus, Amd smbus).

I could have labeled it 14.x/14.1, but just to be sure better use the build number for now. This is official, no leak, maybe a little fast at posting it. 🙂 Check the supported cards in the OP every cards is there not only apu.
is there a chance this is 13.11 beta 9.9? amd was meant to put that online at some point.

What the flying ****? :3eyes: Why is it now february???
Well, I can take a guess, Dice set priority to get BF4 stable first and they need to synchronise certain thing before the final mantle patch? I can fully understand and it's fine with me, it will come. But basic functions like v-sync not getting adressed quickly is beyond me...Putting out a next driver which again has this bug, is plain pissing in our face.. Also the blackscreen issue is alive and kicking I guess?

Will give these a miss asder, as they are just Kaveri drivers, confirmed by an AMD rep on clockers.

Just got done installing this, now my card wont OC at all! Whatever clock i use, as soon as I play a game it just goes all the way down to 740 for no reason, the card isn't even warm or something, it happens as soon as i start doing anything.

BSOD at idle. I installed, updated initial findings, and went to the bar. 5-6 pints later I come home to a BSOD. This is literally the first time I've seen this happen since my GeForce4 Ti4600 and I've used every beta driver that has been released between now and the 13.9 CAT's [7950 only] and the first "Detonator" driver. I'm reverting, I do not feel these were necessarily intended for my hardware.

Why are you guys having so much trouble. These are excellent drivers, no issues at all here. Excellent drivers for BF4 getting MUCH better GPU usage from these compared to 13.12 WHQL's which was getting around 85-99% usage now with these its 99% the whole time. Frame rates have gone up too, feels smoother (probably placebo) but IQ does look a little lower tbh. Overclocking is still fine. How I installed: - Revert clock speed back to stock on GPU (make sure MSI AB is set to NOT load at Windows Start or "apply overclock at start). - Reboot into safe mode, set to reboot back into normal mode, then while in safe mode run DDU with 1 click. - Once rebooted back into normal mode (remember to disable internet or Win Update) Standard VGA Adapter should have installed and be ready to use. - Install these drivers, remember once package is unpacked cancel installation here. Go into C drive and locate AMD folder, get into packages and app folder. DELETE everything you DONT need here like SATA, AHCI, USB drivers etc (unless you need them for me I dont I am on Intel). - Once you have deleted all unwanted files in Apps folder back out a couple of pages to main AMD folder and run Setup.exe from here and CUSTOM INSTALL drivers to make sure you have only got the files you need selected. - Reboot, apply your overclocks back on via whatever app you use set custom fan profile back on as well. DONE.

Vsync xfire still broke for 290Xs
Ah, if this is the same problem I'm having with my 5850/5970 setup, I'll definitely give these a miss. Had to roll back to 13.10 to fix it. New/updated profiles have me curious, but not curious enough.

Although I have lower fps in Assassins Creed black flag and Crysis 3, Battlefield 4 feel more smooth with these at the same fps - that compared with 13.11 BETA 9.5 (13.12 is the same 13.11 only with WHQL at the end) . Now, I don`t know but it seems that they forgot those with new cards. We have to stick with those "13.11 BETA wherever" for how long ? When they will address the pour performance in AC 4 ? (of-course when we finish the game twice) When they will address to low gpu usage issue? I don`t care about mantle and other marketing tricks I just want a mature driver. Right now my R9 290 feels powerful but unpolished.

ah, good old Toasty! happy days but I'll still skip this driver. Kinda waiting for the mantle driver.
it is the mantle driver? why you think it's suddenly 500MB

So when is there a new BETA driver available on the AMD website for all new R9 cards? 🙂
