Why? Seems to work just as fine to me.
I think he doesnt like the overall look of the software.
nope, it wasn't because of the way it looks, but i tried driver fusion and it doesn't removed the leftover, it asks for me to restart, but even after restarting the files that it supposed to delete, is still there, i even tried running it from safe mode and the files are still not deleted. then i tried using driver sweeper, it delete all of the leftover.

I did a roll-back because of the explorer.exe crashing every few minutes. This is just nutz! The 12.8 driver crashes Firefox and the 12.9 crashes explorer.exe. I'm done with the AMD driver BS already.
i was using 12.8 and now been using 12.9 for a week, i didn't have the issues that you mentioned, my firefox is not crashing on 12.8 and my explorer is not crashing on 12.9. i think its maybe time for you to reinstall your windows installation.

i have the same issue, cant' figure how to solve it. i've made every clean possible. still getting same error, also, on install, i get this: i've tried, ccleaner, driver sweeper, driver fusion. even i deleted every system32 file that contains AMD/ati on it (preety nice to see my gpu as an standar vga, windows didn't know what it was). still getting the same error. everything installs ok besides the eror. also, ccc.exe seems running, but it doesn't change file size once it starts, the process opens but freezes on start. if you look a normal ccc mostly starts with a few mb of ram, then it goes really up, like 50mb, and then down again to idle.
did you ran the driver sweeper on safe mode ? i think if it was ran on normal mode, there will be leftover, because on normal mode some of the files are locked by the system.

Maybe you should blame your weak CPU now instead of drivers ??

my 6950 2gb xfx is overheating alone with this drivers... i turning back to 12.6b
data/avatar/default/avatar33.webp
Now that's something that should never happen. Have you overclocked, dusty fans or all together bad airflow in your case? You might also want to update your profile 🙂
data/avatar/default/avatar06.webp
i updated my profile thanks, why my GPu overheating? I turn back to the oldest drivers 12.6b and its normal again

i got major suttering when playing Pro Evolution Soccer 2013, using this driver, haven't checked using old driver, because PES 2013 is a new title.

I started using those "12.10" APU drivers that Inferno posted earlier. They might be the same driver as the 12.9 beta but that set doesn't cause explorer.exe crashes like this set does. I'll be sticking with those. :Edit: After playing some more games today, I finally had explorer.exe crash on me. It's weird because before it was only crashing A. At game launch and B. If CrossfireX was enabled. I ended up grabbing the atiumd64.dll from the 12.8 set and replacing the 12.9 one with it in Windows/System32. So far no explorer.exe crashes and I've been playing XCOM all day. Also there's no "This is not a valid windows file" errors at startup or CCC launch like there was with that older atiumd64.dll. This seems to have done the trick!

well i'm using 12.9 beta, and never had any explorer crash issue.

nope, unless you go back to stock clock, btw did your gpu underclock all the time on stock clock when you enable unofficial OC ? because mine went from 300 MHz for 2d clock to 150 MHz for 2d clock. and it refuse to go up, unless i'm not using stock clock.

Working fine on Oneiric 🙂

So, can people confirm that the "12.10" "beta" stops those explorer.exe errors? Do I need to modify it to install it for my 5850/5970 setup?

Did this still work for you? I'm trying to play Crysis with the 12.4 drivers and it runs pretty bad... I'm getting below 20fps in some parts. I want to go to the 12.9s but the explorer crash is too often for me. I'm also shocked that it's been over a month since there's been a driver update... it sucks. :bang:
data/avatar/default/avatar16.webp
Bugger. Guess it's back to 12.4 then (for the time being)! Still appreciate your work though, asder 🙂

+1 Please, someone help us with this!
Its because powerplay is constantly changing clocks from 2d to 3d speeds. The only way around this is to force constant voltage of your overclock. You can do this in ab by setting "forced voltage" to on or by changing the cfg file for unofficial overclocking to 2. I do not know if trixx has an option like this or not. I just leave my cards at stock on desktop then change them to My Oc profile just before I game.

It's because TRIXX has the "unofficial overclocking" effect enabled by default (the same one as Afterburner) and causes the desktop flickering. I have the same problem with this driver.
Read my post above urs please

I don't want to be one of "those guys" again, but is there any word on the horizon of the next release? Tweets from the Catalyst guys or anything?
data/avatar/default/avatar30.webp
Woot! Unofficial overclocking set to "2" worked. TRIXX doesn't have the option. Still need to use the unofficial overclocking patch (the two "amd .dll" files) for afterburner tho - with 12.9. EDIT: Yeah, as soon is i switched profiles to lower clocks - flickering came back. 🤓 Only way to get rid of it is changing resolutions.
thats strange. Is the voltage at stock when you change it back? i dont have this problem, i can set any clock/voltage at any time without the flickering continuing (it may flicker for a split second when first changing). what i would do with ab is set profile 1 to completely stock and save as such, then use the others as your oc profiles. Ab uses the 2d clocks/voltages from profile 1 by default. yea I forgot to include the .dll's that need to be inserted.
