Not to be rude, but isn't that a sign that something has gone terribly wrong?
It's summer sale in most country... 980Ti is 50Euro to 100Euro cheaper than Fury X in shop because it start selling too close to the sale and NVidia have not. Right now no one buy Fury X or talk about it and in august all partner will be closed (only working on the current stock). So nothing is wrong, it's just that AMD haven't look at asiatic and european calendar (or cannot do better). To see if it is wrong you will have to look in september if there is still only 2 partner or not.

I have a feeling that this card will be equal to or surpass the x model. I just hope it has good over voltage support.

Well, similar performance definitely shows driver issues but heck, even noticed performance differences with my 285 with 5.7, playing at very high details on GTAV (ignoring vram suggested limits) and I usually got between 40-60fps at 1080p (no aa) and that was with 14.12 omega and briefly 5.5 (didn't really seem to make much difference 5.5, just increased min fps but didn't improve max) but 5,7 I'm getting average 50-70fps and obviously the 285 is the baby brother of fury being gcn 1.2. We can certainly say that with how the 7000 series have stayed relevant for so long, gcn 1.1 and 1.2 are no doubt going to show good longevity too, we're already seeing newer drivers improving the 290/390 as well (I did pick my card up for a bargain a couple month ago though, £149 when it was being sold for £189 at the time). It's going to be really interesting to see how gcn 1.2 matures and what AMD will bring out next on the smaller lithographies (just imagine what Fury really could have been like at 14nm for example). I actually reckon the Fury line is just a stop-gap measure that was released in response to the 980ti, give it 6 months and we'll see some crazy cards come out by AMD, I know it.

reading up some it seems its just a tad faster as an o/c 980? it seems to be priced about right

Reference 980 ... Custom 980's are a tad faster. As the reviewer from one site stated:
The problem with many reviews, IMHO, is that they put those customs R9 Fury up against reference blower designs for other GPUs. It's kind of a nice gesture towards AMD hehe but it doesn't paint the whole picture. There can be a huge gap between reference designs and custom ones with the GTX 900s. Of course it's really annoying to have to look at 2 designs per GPU and time is limited. But I don't see how you can provide readers with any insightful analysis of the Sapphire/Asus R9 Fury performances by just looking at the reference GTX 980 benchmark numbers.

The review are all over the place right now ... But when you look at them you understand why..
hey lane 🙂 yeah seems right in a good price range and a good buy

Hmm Makes me wonder why AMD only stuck with 2 partners with the non fury X cards? To me this is kind of weird.
just a thing: Sapphire and Asus sell maybe 85% of the AMD gpu... so it is not bad.

In the HardOCP review, they state that they used the 15.7 drivers with the Fury review, and are going to re-test the Fury-X on those drivers, because they seemed to boost the Fury pretty close to the Fury-X scores. Hardware.fr used the 15.7 drivers on both cards. TechReport used the 15.5beta if their Test system page is up to date. I installed the 15.7 drivers, and have yet to fully test them, but the general opinion is that they bring a little performance boost in some games.

Where are you getting that information?

Why is everyone complaining about the price? First of all, it performs 10% better than the competition adn second it is the new HBM technology that is more expensive to make than GDDR 5 (atm).
It performs 10% better than a 980 Ti? Where?

Where did he say Ti? I assumed he was talking about the 980, which is what the Fury goes up against.

Notice they put the factory OC'ed Fury cards up against the stock 980 at stock speeds. Go pull up reviews on the aftermarket 980s that are going for $500-$520 (MSI, Asus Strix, Zotac, G1 Gaming, etc.), and compare frame rates once they're overclocked with Afterburner. It's not uncommon to see a 20-25% performance bump over stock. It's the same thing we keep seeing - why buy the AMD card when the Nvidia card is roughly the same price, provides better frame rates at popular resolutions like FHD and QHD, while sucking less power? It really only makes sense for the AMD fanboys who just won't buy an Nvidia card. But for everyone else, it's a tough sell.
