google has a hardline into the nsa and would gladly take authoritative control over entire universe, amazon is a competitive business and sells very hard to find things, whereas google spends it's time covering things up. and imo is a part-time cia front. 🙂

Well I don't see amazon improving anything at twitch either. I'm not using twitch, so it's not my concern, but I'm sure it won't take long until people get some additional pop ups or commercials or anything like that, because amazon wants to make money with it non the less.

It makes sense. Companies like this are mainly interested in the database of users and applying algorithms to them for purchasing goods and services, and the sideline of ad revenue is the cherry on top of the icing of the cake. I am surprised twitch sold, they make decent cheese currently and could continue to expand this via the new consoles over time quite easily.

I highly doubt twitch makes a lot of money let alone turns a profit which is probably why Google backed out of the deal. Twitch probably realized this and implemented the DMCA practices in order to curb bandwidth and storage costs as an attempt to inflate their value.

I will say, the last news was that Google had put some hundred millions on the table.. 1) or Amazon have offer more ( and not only on the money side ) 2) Twitch have prefer sign with Amazon ( maybe they was more warranty that Twitch will just not end as a part of Youtube, for then disappear completely, fully integrated in YT. 3) Google have not wanted follow and put more on the table. ( unlikely, its not like they miss some cash ) I dont think Google have change his mind, today, twitch and YT are the 2 plateforms the most used for release videos of games party.. one more for streaming, the other for video playback. coupling both will have been really good for Google. And this put now Amazon in direct competition with them.

I don't think Google is Evil. But they are probably protecting us YouTube users from changes that Google would make if they were successful in purchasing Twich by embedding twitch into YouTube.

The problem with the current pr*ck who's running the show is he treats anyone who has historically been an ally, as an enemy. All while destabilizing the entire middle east, and in ever single instance... takes the side of the Islamofascist terrorists, all because he despises what the so-called "Colonialist" British and French did with the Sykes-Picot Agreement post WW1. Oh... and trust me. Obama is spying on our allies just as much as he spies on our enemies... as well as American Citizens. I have a feeling that his "reign" will come to an abrupt end if the Republicans take the Senate. Without Harry Reid blocking ALL Republican legislation (over 300 bills since 2012), and protecting the criminal in the white house, congress will be able to regain the power Harry gave away to the Presidency and perhaps we just might see Obama answer for his lawlessness.

Seems Twitch is already forcing game streamers to show more ads. I use adblock+ and noscript which usually blocks them so gamers are now forced to show them themselves which is unavoidable. TL and other sites ask PLEASE remove adblock so we can make more money.

Yeah I have seen sites like that where they ask you to disable adblock. In one case I can understand them why a site would want to disable adblock to they can pay for the bandwidth of the site. As far as Twitch goes they should let the content creator decide when the ads get shown. Like for example if you streaming for like a couple of hours and you need a break in like 30 min intervals which can equal alot of ads and more money. They are getting desperate if they are making the gamers watch ads. I also use Adblock + and Noscript because I don't want risk me getting a virus from Ads.

Amazon is evil, especially if you have a business when surrounded by businesses who just don't understand how to make money.

And you really think it was all Obama's idea, and they didn't do it before? And the Republicans will change that to the better? You do remember the patriot act being introduced under the Bush administration? Lawlessness, as in electorial fraud? :bang:

I've been a member of their audible site and bought many audio books), such a selection of audio books you wouldn't believe, absolutely not a chance in hell of finding these on the street. (or anywhere else for that matter). amazon's audible helped produce many of the works i imagine (at least to some extent).

Also, they don't publish author's works in paper although there are contracts to do so just to kill analogue, paper work competition. Books already finished, just waiting to be printed, that get released as ebooks for a few cents so the author gets nothing, yet amazon sells millions to make it's money? Amazon doesn't really help with publishing at all, they want access to your intellectual property, no matter what the authors want.
