The Gainward 970 Phantom has a boost of over 1300 MHz.

Yeah MSI is doing everything right with mobos and cards.

MSI easily wins in the "looks" department for me, we'll see how good the new cooler performs. Also, please enlighten me, what does AIB stand for? I use to call these cards aftermarket, but I don't think that's correct either. :O

Asus and Zotac look awful, the MSi looks great, like the 2 tone on the shroud.

I've been waiting for ages to see this 970 - it better be worth the wait.. When's that embargo over again? Few days?

It's Friday, Friday everybody get down on Friday. So as you can tell the NDA lifts this Friday. HH has been stroking these 9xx cards now for a while and already knows all the gory details, not sure if he has the reviews ready for friday but my guess would be of course he does. I'm hoping they do a 8gb 960 as i will prolly go for 2 of those with my new intel system which i haven't even got yet. I have a bag of sand saved so far. 1200£ @ payday 27th. Can't wait finally getting rid of my 965 🙂

It's pretty amazing to see only 2x 6pin connectors on such a high end card. Maybe the 1080(if they use this numbering system) will only have one x 8 pin or something. Imagine having an sli or quad sli even with a power supply under a k. Mad.

If the price is right I may "upgrade" to 970 or 980, I could get decent amount of € from my current card. I wouldn't mind getting cooler and quieter card even though this Asus is really nice (idle fan speed is a bit too high).

I like the direction nvidia is going here with price and power consumption. Might switch back to them eventually if this trend continues with their next generation.

We won't see any Dx12 title untill the end of 2015 atleast..So..

I'm pretty much a for sure to buy a 980.. if it can overclock well and beat a 780ti, its a for sure. I will promptly take off the cooler and strap on my arctic twin turbo and see what that baby can do.

Chances of a 980 being faster than a Titan by like 20% - 40%? Probably 0 right?
We will see very soon, but if rumor is right and it's like 5-10% faster than a 780Ti then it might be arround 15%ish or even 20% than the original Titan? These are all % pulled out of my ass of course. 😀 It's for sure many % faster than my 680s. I will most likely upgrade, but will have to decide if I wait for either MSI 980s Lightnings, 980s with 8GB vram or get MSI 980s Gaming which will be available next week already (probably). :wanker:

witcher 3 will use 4.5gb with ultra textures and uber view distances, making our future 8gb purchases worthy. no bottlenecking over here no sir. x2 960 8gb that's what i'm talking about. haha
You with your x60 double vram cards 😀 But I'm fairly interested to see if the 960 would be fast enough to actually work well at SLI for such a demanding game.

well i use no aa at all ever, but sure i know what you're sayin, for ex. the PhysX could get in the way, x2 970s would be better sure. or x2 980s if you need the extra.
Remember when we talked about dedicated physix cards, and how you might keep one of your's as a physix card and upgrade for two 960s for frames? Is that plan still an option for you? Because I'm unsure of wheater I should go for two 980s and a dedicated physix card, and if so, which one should be the third (out of heat, nois, and price issues of course). Of course, we need to see the reviews of the Maxwells first...
