The Predator XB273K may well end up being my next monitor. That's the price i was expecting to pay for a 4k 144hz HDR G-sync monitor when they brought out the Predator X27. But i was put off by the huge +£2100 price tag and the noisy fan on the back. Seems like the Predator XB273K won't have as much peek brightness but it hits all the other specs i was looking for. Unless they bring out a 32" version, then i'll buy that one instead.

considering these are o.e.m. panels the price is ridiculous.
they are going to have precisely the same spec as whatever brand the o.e.m. also supplies.
the g-sync and the panel are the only realistic expense at manufacture, all Asus is doing is making an attractive chassis and stand...and raking in the (eventual) cash.
there is no proprietary technology advantage over anything else...and if it is an A.U.O. panel, expect to see the same thing for roughly $500 less.

Gonna cave and get one of these 4k Acers methinks. Better pricing and options than Asus. No idea when 32 inch models will eventually arrive and rather not sit around for years. More pixel density, hence a sharper image at 27 inch anyway. 😉

Save your money guys and wait for a 32" variant. I've got a 4K 28" Samsung and a 32" 4K Benq. 4K is so much better on 32". Just my humble opinion of course.

well the Freesync model is a rip as you can buy a Samsung 4k tv and get Freesync with a far larger screen and HDR 10
