The name that popped out of nowhere a year and a half ago is Fractal design. With some impressive chassis like the R2 and R3 taking a good position in the high-end segment they did feel a need to release products in the entry level and mid-range segment. New chassis like the Core 1000, 2000 and 3000 serve a budget to mid-range segment, and the new ARC series target the mid-range segment. We have a couple of photo's in the gallery waiting for you to looked at. We actuaally have a core 3000 review coming up next week.

Small sidenote, the photo of the huge Icecube with the chassis inside ... that's real, the froze it in in a Nordic country, flew it over to taiwan, and 15K later ... that's lighting and refreshening up the booth as enry point. Have a peek, and you'll know what I mean.

Adata the company know for their storage technologies best had a massive booth at Computex this year. On demo where a lot off products, the hot stuff amongst it where the S511 Sate 6G SSD drives. These puppies run incredible speeds in the 500MB/sec range thanks to SandForce 2200 series controllers.

They where showing their PSU line, traditional their memory line with for example the Plus series revsision 2.0 1600 MHz DDR3 DIMM modules but also a new XPG series of quad DIMM memory kit of modules at 1333 MHZ at 8GB a piece, that's 24 gigs my man, check out the photo's on that, very cool stuff.

Extremely impressive it the USB 3.0 FLASH N005 PRO storage unit with multiple data channels, the little 64Gb stick runs 100 to 130MB/sec, not bad for a USB 3.0 storage unit alright. You'll also notice some HDD enclosures. Last but not least, Gigabyte has announced a full line-up of future Z68-based motherboards that will include an onboard mSATA connection, enabling you to plug a small SSD directly into the motherboard.

ADATA is going to sell these cute little storage cache SSDs that you can use as Intel Smart response technology (please read our Z68 review on that). The XM13 SSD Cache units should be priced aggressively on the market, perhaps even bundled with Gigabyte's motherboard. The storage unit will get SLC based memory so its fast and very durable. Hello all and a very warm welcome to Guru3D's visit to Taipei in Taiwan, where we'll visit the Computex 2011 exhibition.

In collaboration with ECS Elitegroup we'll travel half way around the globe. The Computex in Taipei is a computer expo held annually at the Taipei World Trade Center in Taipei, Taiwan. The first Computex expo held in 1981 started out as a place where small and medium sized businesses in Taiwan's nascent computer industry could display their products.

As Taiwan's information technology industry took off in the early 1990s, Computex has since rapidly expanded and become an important showcase for IT industry. Now it has become the second largest computer expo in the world (after CeBIT) and the largest in Asia, with participation from major manufacturers such as Intel, AMD, ATI, NVIDIA, and others.

Because of the large number of companies involved in the production of computer hardware in Taiwan, COMPUTEX has become a favorite location for observers hoping to get a preview of new hardware and trends in that field.

Today is day 0 - the before the event starts, we've already browsed the primary tradeshow grounds at the Nangang facility and we've been able to catch a thing or two on camera already.

Being our sponsor, first dibs go to ECS. This is day 0 as mentioned, everybody is still building their booths. In the middle, oh yes .. Intel's X79 chipset is on display. Meet the X79R-A, Intel's next platform for enthusiasts will get a 2011-pin LGA socket, the Sandy Bridge-E (enthusiast) processor that features a massive quad-channel DDR3 memory controller and 32+ lane PCI-Express 2.0 hub, and the X79 chipset. 

All the way to the right, AMD Llano, That's the A75F-M for AMD's A series APUs based on socket FM1. This dual-channel 1866 MHz compatible Micro ATX motherboard has four dimm slots, six SATA 6G ports, Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel Realtek audio and obviously will have Radeon DX11 graphics embedded into the processor, it will have two USB 3.0 ports, DSUB, DVI and HDMI.

Obviously we will not forget about the x-chromosome species this year, as it seems ... as important as the actual hardware :) The coming hours we'll have some more photo's and kit to show you, yes Computex 2011 kicks off.

I have to cut this one short as my bus to the airport leaves in 30 minutes, but eVGA was in a suite in the Hyatt hotel in Taipei. On display the latest liquid cooled GTX 580 cards, the somewhat late to market P67 motherboard, in the works are Z68 and upcoming Sandy-Bridge E processor supporting motherboards. eVGA let us know that after the sudden leave of many mobo employees, the team has been built up again ensuring a strong share in the motherboard market with enthusiast class products.

The king of power supplies and fans was at Computex as well. Enermax is showing off their upcoming PSU ranges, yes the Platinum qualified series is nearly ready. Have a peek at them in the photo gallery.

New in the lineup are some new ventilators as well, be sure to peek at the new prototype chassis offerings as well. Also in the works is a mechanical keyboard, which again you can spot in the gallery, but please let me remind you that it is a prototype alright. Chrck out the gallery here.

Over at the Zotac booth there was quite a bit of new kit on display, also behind the scenes some interesting NDA stuff hah ! Zotac is gooing strong with the cutest form-factor motherboards and even have a model based on the Z68 chipset on that. Here's a little PR snippet on that:

It is always nice to meet the guys from Noctua. As you all know we've tested pretty much all of their offerings and evangelize them a lot, their products are high-end, somewhat expensive but always worth every penny as the cooling capacity is awesome and the sheer silence always great.

Noctua has been working on a new fan, and you might just say a fan is just a fan .. well not for Noctua, pure and sheer science at work is what you are about to see and what they have been developing for two years, can you imagine that ?

we can't help it, but we are fans of their fans. Currently I lack the background info from a PDF they have send out as Internet is so fricking bad over here. But have a close look at the photo-gallery as these are the most advanced fans in terms of research and development I have ever seen.

Cooler wise there will be some new models introduced as well, take a closer look at the upcoming cooler there are some prototypes in there as well. Sorry for the lack of info, but the internet is caving in here at the moment. In a later stage (next week) I'll likely post some more information on the new models and that new fan, which very much draws my attention. Check out the gallery here.

We dropped by Gelid, known from their recent entry in the cooler market for a quick chat. New in the lineup (to be released) is an all new model high-perf heatpipe cooler tagged as the GX7 with as you can guess seven heatpipes. The cooler follows that somewhat regular design offering high-end perf versus acceptable noise levels verus a competitive price. We expect the cooler to retail for roughly 40~45 USD.

They also had a new low profile cooler on displaay and their latest model VGA cooler supporting even the GTX 580 and also a prototype VGA cooler, bigger phatter and thus offering more capacity. The white chassis in the photo gallery is actually also a project that they started, which should sell in Q3.

Oh and I saved the best for last in the Gelid photo-shoot. The cutest girlss you can think of, showing hardware just for you guys ... what more could you wish for eh ? :)

Known predominantly in Europe Club3D was at Computex with a meeting place as well. We quickly hopped by and took some photo's of their latest custom cooler graphics cards called coolstream. Club3D offers both ATI and NVIDIA cards, new in the low-end range the passive cooled models. They recently also started a PSU line ranging from regular to high-end and an upcoming product is a little USB extension that allows you to connect another monitor.

Take for example a laptop, plug in a USB device, install the driver and hook up an external monitor. Up to 6 devices and thus monitors are supported with a resolution support of slightly over 19x12 per monitor, go check out the photo's right here.

With the speed of lightning we had to go by the Asrock booth, they had a great number of motherboards on display, amongst them all new A75, 990FX, Z68 and other motherboards. Also on display the new Vision 3D HTPC Series and CoreHT. The newly-launched CoreHT HTPC Series provide users a chance of experiencing a media center. A Intel Sandy Bridge processor allows this platform to support Intel HD Graphics 3000 and Built-in Visuals. With the support of Blu-ray Stereoscopic 3D playback via HDMI v1.4a output, users are ensured to watch the fantastic 3D movies completely.

Good lordy .. internet sucks from Taiwan to the EU .. 60% packet loss on HINET on average, aah well we'll keep trying and pushing if not we'll catch up with our coverage over the weekend when we are back in Europe.

In the following gallery I wanted to give you a small overview of some of the MSI components. Of course the new GTX 580 Lightning Xtreme Edition was the primary card being released by MSI at computex. Since we already reviewed it we strongly suggest to read that content if you did not do so already.

More news on the Z68 motherboard we mentioned earlier on Monday, we confirmed it is indeed PCIE 3.0 ready, and that will kick in with the combination of the upcoming revised Sandy Bridge processors. It's a kickass motherboard alright.

We've covered all important stuff from ASUS in earlier Computex news-bulletins already but I added new photo-gallery of the ASUS booth and products on displaay. Go have peek at the latest motherboards, graphics cards, the new noise canceling headphones.

Topic of interest is a new notebook, the G53SX which does amazingly good 3D without the use of glasses, that really impressed me.

Anyway have a peek there are 33 new photo's in this particular gallery. Which only took an hour to uplaod with the internet bandwith available here :)

Following on the CM Storm theme, they will also be launching Cooler Masters first ever gaming headset, the CM Storm Sirus with true 5.1-channel audio thanks to four speakers in each ear cup for class leading, real-time surround sound.

In the photo gallery you'll also notice the winner of the Case Mod 2011 Competition. The rest of the photo-booth show some niche kit.

Unfortunately the really good stuff was still under NDA, amongst them a new Cosmos chassis hat is the bomb really. It got delayed along with another chassis and thus could not make Computex launch time. Have a peek at the new models PSU's, also a new gamers Mechanical keyboard that looks really good, some new prototype coolers and also a further advancement of that you have seen at CeBIT on the LCS side.

Over at the Hyatt hotel Zalman was displaying some new kit. Amongst them a rather impressive new 3 fan but totally silent cooler called the CNPS12X, the new CNPS 7X LED and also an update on the VGA cooling side as the VF300F got an updated to support the GeForce GTX 580.

In the power supply departments you'll notice more affordable 500 and 600 HP Plus models. But yeah the center piece of the Zalman photo gallery will be that CNPS12X. Also the last 5-6 photo's in the gallery show a new aluminum chassis that is in an early prototype stage, cool stuff to look at as it goes against everything we wish for lately like cable management, this one has one trend only .. pure style. And we are resuming news posts from Computex again, the press centers are overloaded and thus Internet access here in Taiwan is absolutely dreadful, worse then that, it is the same in the hotel.

So with the crawling bandwith available, let me try and pick up on things. This morning we visited NZXT, they had somee new kit on display like the Source 210, a starter chassis for gamers on a budget that want a nice set of features but don

G.Skill lured in the crowd with an impressive booth at the Nangang Computex facility. On display is their new Phoenix II Pro, based on the latest SandForce SF-2200 controller with the whopping random write speed up to 60K IOPS. The SSD achieves ultra fast sequential read/write speed up up to 550/510 MB/s.

Next to that memory setups, lots of tthem in all quantities and frequencies alright. On display was a 16GB kit for Intel Z68/P67 platform - DDR3 2,300MHz CL9-11-9-28 16GB (4GBx4) 1.65V RipjawsX kit, a pretty kickass AMD 990FX platform with DDR3 running at 2,133MHz 16GB! And their memory monster setup 48GB(4GBx12) 2000MHz CL8 on the luxury EVGA Super Record 2 (SR-2) motherboard with two Intel Xeon LGA1366 CPU.

On display for the fastest memory kit (Intel P55 platform) was some DDR3 2,400MHz CL9-11-10-28 8GB (4GBx2) 1.65V, the Trident kit.

Next in line at Computex was a quick appointment with In-Win, they are going strong and we have some new kit and two prototype chassis to show you in the photo-gallery.

Amongst the photo's you'll notice that from top to bottom their Commander II and Airtorn power supplies now will get a bronze efficiency rating, good to see that. The two white chassis are the prototype's and do not have names just yet. That black and white one with the diamond shape red mesh is interesting to look at, also it has the motherboard tray reversed meaning your mobo would be positioned upside-down.
