Cooling 272 Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn 0

Cooler Master introduced its first CPU cooler with support for Intel's LGA2011 processors; the Hyper 412S. This new HSF will be available soon for 35EUR, it offers four direct-touch 6mm heatpipes, aluminium fins and a 120mm "long life" sleeve bearing fan that delivers 52.6CFM at a noise level of 22.5dBA. The cooler measures 132mm x 99mm x 160mm and weighs 609g with fan included.

Cooler Master, an industry leading chassis, thermal solution, peripheral, and accessory manufacturer brings a new CPU cooler to light, the powerful Hyper 412S CPU Cooler, which targets a delicate balance between cooling potential and noise. The Hyper 412S perform extraordinarily well while maintaining minimal noise levels.

Innovative design and materials
The Hyper 412S CPU Cooler is designed for optimum heat dissipation at low fan speeds. This is thanks to wider fin gaps and a precise heat pipe layout that directs each of their four heat pipes across CPU

Zalman CNPS 12X review

Cooling 272 Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn 0

The one that everybody remembers and still is going strong where the initial CNPS (Computer Noise Prevention System) CPU cooler, the copper somewhat rounded "butterfly" based coolers. That model has been the biggest success of all their coolers. Anno 2011 Zalman is still going strong on the concept and just when you think they can't change anything on that design they proof that a top notch new cooler based off that old design can still work out well and look gorgeous.

The Zalman CNPS 12X comes with Zalman

LGA2011 after-market coolers in shortage?

Cooling 272 Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn 0

Tthird party processor cooler makers may not be able to release their products in time for the launch of Intel's Sandy Bridge E series. The site heard the delay is caused by design issues due to the large footprint of the LGA2011 socket.

As the new processors has a larger footprint and occupies almost 1/4 of the motherboard, heatsink manufacturers have to factor in design considerations to ensure that it doesn

Zalman CNPS12X high-end cooler

Cooling 272 Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn 0

We have shown it a couple of times before now, but Zalman released the CNPS12X, a new high-end cooler that weighs a whopping 1kg. The cooler features six direct-touch heatpipes which convey the heat to two heatsinks that are made almost entirely of nickel-plated copper. The fins are cooled by three fans, which have a minimum noise level of 22dBA. In Europe the cooler can be found for pre-order for just under 70EUR.

Measuring 151 x 132 x 154 mm (L x W x H), and weighing exactly 1 kg, the CNPS12X uses a design that's essentially identical to that of the NH-D14 from Noctua, that of two fin stacks. It's just that the stacks here are somewhat circular in shape, and that the CNPS12X uses three fans: an intake (before the first stack), a conveyer (between the two stacks), and an exhaust (after the second stack). All three fans are 120 mm in size, and are illuminated by blue LEDs.

The fans seem to be using 3-pin (voltage) method of speed control. Supplied with the cooler are three RC5 intermediate resistors, which make the fans spin at speeds between 850 and 1100 RPM with as low as 22 dBA noise output. Without the RC5, the fans spin between 950 and 1200 RPM, with at least 24 dBA noise output.

Scythe Big Shuriken 2 CPU Cooler

Cooling 272 Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn 0

Japanese cooling expert Scythe announces the successor of Big Shuriken CPU Cooler. Big Shuriken 2 had to undergo further development on the heatsink and axial-fan side to provide better even performance and compatibility.

Applied improvements of heatsink are not obvious at first sight because main heatsink structure was inherited from Big Shuriken (1) CPU Cooler. Total amount of copper-heatpipes was increases from four to five pieces. Curved heatpipes are connecting the nickel-plated copper-base with the two upper layers of aluminum fins. Big Shuriken (1) was equipped with a solid heatsink on top of the copper-base which has been removed in the new version.

Consequently socket mounting is no longer achieved by using VTMS mounting mechanism but the F.M.S.B. 4 (Flip Mount Super Back-Plate 4) using screws and backlpate. Socket compatibility list has been kept long as usual, including latest Intel socket LGA1155, LGA1156, T / LGA775 and LGA1366 as well as AMD socket AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+ and FM1.

New Version is furthermore equipped with a Slip Stream Slim 120 PWM axial-fan with a thickness of only 12 mm allowing the total height of Big Shuriken 2 being only 58 mm. Supplied 120 mm fan supports the PWM feature offering variable fan control between 500 and 2.000 rpm. Depending on fan speed and requirements the supplied fan is able to create airflow from 21 to 78 m

Intel Confirms Bundling LGA 2011 CPUs with Own-Brand Liquid Coolers

Cooling 272 Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn 0

Next to AMD Intel has recently confirmed its plans to sell special kits of the high-performance Sandy Bridge-E processors that in addition of the CPU will also include an Intel branded closed loop liquid cooler.

This is the first time that the chip maker will bundle any of its processors with a water cooling solution.

In addition to selling the liquid cooler as part of a kit, Intel also plans to release this solution separately (also a premier for the company), in order to address other platform as well.

The CPU water coolers that will be made available by Intel are built together with Asetek, a maker well renowned for its high-quality closed loop liquid coolers, and includes a water block and pump assembly that goes on top of the CPU and a 120mm radiator with a pre-fitted fan.

Both the pump and the fan were designed to feature blue illumination, which closely resembles the color of the Intel logo.

Pricing for the new coolers is unknown at this time, but these are expected to come out together with the first Sandy Bridge-E processors on November 14.

Corsair H100 review

Cooling 272 Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn 0

The product we test today is the Corsair H100, all pimped up with a new design radiator and internally regulated control for pump and fans. Next to that what's interesting is that this product is based on a dual 120mm rad, and that gives the series a heck of lot more performance over previous products.

Now combining that with an easy on the eyes, relatively tool free installation and then Corsair might have a winner in their hands. Let's find out, read the review right here.
