Whqaaaaaat ... 500 USD/EUR ? Yes, Thrustmaster will soon release the T500RS, a new steering wheel with Gran Turismo branding. The peripheral promises unrivaled accuracy but it's rumored to carry a price tag of $500, and that's without the optional H-pattern shifter.
But, Thrustmaster seems to have secured the license for the franchise now and is building a wheel called the T500RS which, if you go Thrustmaster.com, you can get a quick peek of -- or you can just look at the screengrab above.
The wheel promises unrivaled accuracy and what looks to be the same sort of magnetic sensor technology used in the company's overwhelmingly beefy HOTAS Warthog controller.
Kinect, Microsoft's motion gaming accessory has been hacked--mere days after its release. Adafruit detailed that the group or individual that created an open-source driver for the new accessory would be granted the prize money. With the money on the table, hackers got to work, much to Microsoft's dismay, and in no time at all a hack surfaced. The video below shows off the work of NUI Group forum user AlexP. In the video we can see his Windows 7 PC tracking the movement of the Kinect--it's a relatively basic application, but it's a good start. Interestingly, this comes just days after open-source developer Adafruit offered a cool $2000 to the first person to bust through Kinect's locks.
Microsoft has responded accordingly, stating: "Microsoft does not condone the modification of its products. With Kinect, Microsoft built in numerous hardware and software safeguards designed to reduce the chances of product tampering. Microsoft will continue to make advances in these types of safeguards and work closely with law enforcement and product safety groups to keep Kinect tamper-resistant."
The folks of Engadget published a couple of photos of a prototype of Sony Ericsson's elusive PlayStation Phone. The device is likely based on Android 3.0 "Gingerbread" and features a custom Sony Marketplace that enables you to purchase and download games.
The device snapped up top (and in our gallery below) is sporting a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 (a chip similar to the one found in the G2, but 200MHz faster), 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, and the screen is in the range of 3.7 to 4.1 inches. Looking almost identical to the mockup we hit you with this summer, the handset does indeed have a long touchpad in the center which is apparently multitouch, and you can see in the photos that it's still bearing those familiar PlayStation shoulder buttons. For Sony buffs, you'll be interested to know that there's no Memory Stick slot here, but there is support for microSD cards.

In an attempt to prevent and act against the PS Jailbreak Sony has made steps to make sure that it doesn't get out of hand. It's not a new firmware update, though. For now, they're targetting the modchips that make the hack possible. As of yesterday, they've managed to secure a temporary injuction from Australia's Federal Court, blocking the sale and importation of the new PS3 modchips.
The injunction means that until August 31, none of the modchip's Australian distributors will be able to import, sell or otherwise offload the devices. What's more, they have to take all the stock they already have and leave them with Sony's solicitors until the August 31 deadline passes.
Sony has from now until August 31 to convince the courts that the injunction becomes a more permanent arrangement (temporary injunctions are designed to maintain the "status quo" until a matter can be settled). If they succeed, it'll mean the end of legal sales of the device in Australia, but if they fail, then once September 1 rolls around the chips will be able to go on sale.
Okay I'd be lying if I said I posted this video really about the actually demo ... but here's a video spotlighting Taiwanese girls demoing Kung Fu Rider on Sony's upcoming PlayStation Move PS3 Motion Controller.
