MSI Enters Network Peripherals Market with Wi-Fi 6E Routers: A Review of RadiX AXE6600

MSI has expanded its product line with the launch of two powerful routers, the RadiX AXE6600 and its smaller version that excludes Wi-Fi 6E, which covers the entire 6 GHz spectrum. With the latest 6 GHz frequency standard, users can benefit from 80 MHz and 160 MHz channels, reducing network congestion in densely populated areas where other wireless networks compete for data on the same frequencies. The MSI Radix AXE6600 is a high-end gaming router that provides wired and wireless connectivity. Its unique appearance is matched by support for the latest 6GHz frequency, also known as WIFI 6E, as well as compatibility with 5G AX/AC and 2.4G lower bands. With a quad-core CPU and quad-band connectivity, this router is designed to handle even the most demanding gaming environments.  The MSI RadiX AXE6600 should not be mistaken for the almost identically named MSI RadiX AX6600, which does not offer 6GHz WiFi 6E support. This triple-band router is equipped with a quad-core CPU and offers quad-band connectivity. In today's market, routers can be found in abundance, with many of them offering similar features. To stand out, manufacturers are constantly looking for ways to add new features to their products. However, as routers are limited by industry Ethernet and WIFI standards, manufacturers must focus on providing good throughput for high-bandwidth file transfer and creating user-friendly firmware with a comprehensive feature set. The router that supports the 802.11ax specification and the new 6GHz band, also known as Wi-Fi 6e. This new frequency provides more than double the capacity of the adjacent 5GHz band, allowing for up to seven nonoverlapping 160MHz channels. This makes the 6GHz band similar to a brand-new seven-lane expressway, with access reserved for 6E devices. However, it should be noted that 6GHz Wi-Fi spectrum is not available in all countries and in some places, it is not allowed to operate at maximum power. This means that coverage may be limited for now and the 6GHz is not supported by most of the devices yet. But with this router, you can achieve excellent wireless speeds of 700~800 Mbit/s at 5 to 10 meters via WiFi.

The MSI RadiX AXE6600 gaming router, priced at $349.99, is equipped with Wi-Fi 6E technology, a robust CPU, and multi-gigabit wired connections to provide high-quality performance. With an AXE6600 rating, the router offers three radios that can simultaneously deliver a combined total of 6,600Mbits/sec on 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz frequencies. At 2.4GHz, the router can provide up to 573.5Mbits/sec, which increases to 1,200Mbits/sec at 5GHz, and an impressive 4,800Mbits/sec on the 6GHz waveband. The six non-removable antennas feature embedded LED light strips that change color depending on the active Quality of Service (QoS) mode. It measures 7.8 by 13.3 by 8.8 inches (HWD) with the antennas fully extended, making it ideal for gamers.  Few devices currently support 6GHz, but newer premium motherboards, USB-based adapters, and a limited selection of notebooks are compatible.
