SK hynix has introduced the updated Platinum P51 PCIe 5.0 solid-state drive (SSD) in South Korea, featuring improved specifications compared to its initial announcement in March. The new model offers a sequential read speed of 14.7 gigabytes per second (GB/s), up from 13.5 GB/s, and a sequential write speed increased to 13.4 GB/s from 11.5 GB/s. Additionally, the SSD delivers random input/output operations per second (IOPS) of up to 2,300,000 for reads and 2,400,000 for writes. These enhancements make the Platinum P51 competitive with SSDs utilizing the Phison E26 controller, especially in terms of random IOPS performance. The Platinum P51 is built with SK hynix's 238-layer 3D TLC NAND technology and has an endurance rating of up to 1,200 terabytes written (TBW) for the 2 terabyte model.

Intel has announced that its upcoming Panther Lake processor will be built on the advanced 18A process node, utilizing the ES0 silicon revision. The Panther Lake-H variant is designed with a total of 18 cores, which include 6 Performance cores, 8 Efficiency cores, and 4 Low-Power cores. This configuration reintroduces low-power island Efficiency cores into the System on Chip tile architecture. The Performance cores are based on the Cougar Cove microarchitecture, expected to deliver enhanced Instructions Per Cycle compared to the previous Lion Cove generation, while the Efficiency cores continue to utilize the established Skymont architecture. The integrated GPU is planned to use Intel's Xe3 Celestial architecture.

The SPD chip is essential during the device's initialization phase, as it communicates critical memory information to the processor. The research team discovered that by manipulating the data provided by the SPD chip, an attacker could deceive the processor into recognizing a larger amount of memory than is actually present.
