Crystal DiskMark 8.0.6 Download

Generic Benchmarks 55 Updated by Hilbert Hagedoorn 0

teaser
CrystalMark is a Storage benchmark and system information application from Crystal Dew World. Here you can always download the latest version. CrystalDiskMark is a tool that checks how fast your hard drives work. It looks at how quickly they can read and write data both in order and randomly. This is helpful when you want to see how fast different storage devices are, like USB drives or your computer's built-in storage. With CrystalDiskMark, you can find out the speed of reading and writing data in a straight line, which is called sequential speed. It also checks the speed of reading and writing small bits of data stored in different places, known as random speed. This can be done with different sizes of data, like 512 KB or 4 KB, and it can even do a special check where it reads and writes data in 32 places at the same time. You can choose what kind of data the tool uses for the tests, like completely random data, all zeros, or all ones. This can make a difference in how the speeds are measured. CrystalDiskMark also lets you change how it looks with different themes, and it works in many languages, which is great for users around the world. The best part is that it's free to download, so anyone can use it to test their hard drives.

CrystalDiskInfo 9.5.0 Download

Generic Utilities 107 Updated by Hilbert Hagedoorn 0

teaser
Download CrystalDiskInfo - CrystalDiskInfo is a simple tool designed to check the condition of your hard disk drives (HDDs), solid-state drives (SSDs), and some external drives. It's a free program that helps you understand more about your computer's storage devices, focusing on their health and efficiency. The main features of CrystalDiskInfo include showing important information about your drives, keeping an eye on their S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) values, and tracking the temperature of the drives. When you want to know detailed information about the hard drives in your computer, CrystalDiskInfo is a go-to option. It presents the data in a straightforward manner, making it easy to read and understand. The tool checks on various aspects of your drives, like their overall health status and operational temperature. It can also send you warnings if it detects any potential issues, helping you prevent data loss or drive failure. Once you open CrystalDiskInfo, you'll see a summary of your drives at the top of the window, including their health status and, if available, temperature. If you click on a specific drive, the program will show more details about it, such as its name, model, capacity, and other technical data. For example, it will tell you how many times the drive has been powered on and for how long, as well as the number of reads and writes it has processed. This information helps you understand how much use your drive has seen and its current condition.

AMD Kracken Point Processor Found in ASUS KoratPlus-KRK Motherboard (Geekbench AI Scores)

Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn 0

teaser
Recently, Everest (@Olrak29) from the X platform reported that on October 18th, a test record for the ASUS motherboard model KoratPlus-KRK was found in the Geekbench AI score library, maintained by the benchmarking website Geekbench. The test results indicate the inclusion of a suspected six-core AMD Kracken Point processor, configured as a 3+3 dual-cluster CPU. Based on AMD's typical product naming, the KRK designation in the motherboard model likely refers to the Kracken Point processor series, which AMD is expected to introduce at CES 2025. The Kracken Point processors are designed with a CPU architecture supporting up to four Zen 5 cores paired with four Zen 5c cores, totaling eight cores. However, the CPU information from the recent Geekbench test shows that the processor tested does not use the full 4+4 core setup. Instead, it has a dual-cluster structure of three Zen 5 cores and three Zen 5c cores, totaling six cores. This suggests a partial implementation of the Kracken Point architecture, possibly to balance performance and power efficiency.

Two days later: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Still Suffers Server Overload and Ongoing Database Issues

Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn 29

teaser
For most the game is still unplayable or restricted. The release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has encountered significant technical challenges due to an unexpected increase in user numbers. Despite Microsoft conducting load tests for up to 200,000 simulated users, the actual number of players exceeded these projections, leading to backend server overloads. This has resulted in persistent issues with game loading and crashes, adversely affecting the user experience. Engineers at Microsoft identified that the mission service database cache became overwhelmed despite previous stress tests. This overload restricts players from engaging in missions within the game. To mitigate the issue, Microsoft implemented a throttling system to regulate the number of players accessing the game simultaneously. However, these measures have not fully resolved the problem, as service crashes continue to occur. These crashes cause extended loading times, and if the game fails to load beyond 97%, users are advised to restart the application. Additionally, service disruptions have led to default aircraft not appearing in users' libraries.

SK hynix Begins Mass Production of 1TB Triple Level Cell-Based 4D NAND Flash (321-Layers)

Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn 0

teaser
SK hynix initiated mass production of a 1 terabyte (1 TB) triple level cell-based 321-high 4D NAND Flash memory. This development follows the company's previous milestone of producing the industry's first 238-layer NAND flash in June of the previous year. By successfully developing technology to stack over 300 layers, SK hynix has positioned itself as the first global supplier to offer NAND flash memory with more than 300 layers. The company plans to distribute these 321-high products to customers starting in the first half of next year. The achievement of stacking more than 300 layers was made possible through the adoption of the "3 plugs" process technology. This process is recognized for its high production efficiency, as it electrically connects three plugs through an optimized subsequent process after completing three plug procedures. To support this advancement, SK hynix developed a low-stress material and introduced technology that automatically corrects the alignment between plugs. These innovations have enabled the company to enhance the structural integrity and performance of the NAND flash memory.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 struggles to get off the ground - Massive Server Issues and Negative User Feedback

Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn 29

teaser
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 was released on November 19 at 8:00 am PT, following the legacy of its 2020 predecessor. Despite high expectations, the latest version has experienced multiple technical problems since its launch, similar to those encountered by the earlier edition. This editor included was not able to even load up the game yesterday, and today I have seen nothing other than connection issues (even in a 1 Gbit/s connection). The game in it's current state is a freakfest and so not worth the money. On the Steam platform, the game has received over 2,800 reviews, with approximately 500 positive and 2,300 negative. The main issues reported include performance instability, prolonged download times, and installation failures, which have negatively affected the user experience. Many of the reported problems are due to Microsoft's server infrastructure being unable to handle the large number of new players. Unlike previous versions that used Steam’s servers for distribution, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 requires the game to be downloaded through an in-game menu, directly using Microsoft's servers. This shift has placed additional strain on Microsoft's Azure cloud services, leading to longer download times and frequent interruptions where the download process stops around 97 percent completion.

The GB200 NVL4 system includes 768 GB of HBM3E memory distributed across its four Blackwell GPUs, achieving a combined memory bandwidth of 32 TB/s. Additionally, the two Grace CPUs are equipped with 960 GB of LPDDR5X memory, enhancing the system's capability to manage demanding AI workloads. A key component of the NVL4 architecture is the NVLink interconnect technology, which enables efficient communication between all processors on the board. This interconnect is essential for maintaining optimal performance across multiple processing units, especially during large-scale training operations or when handling multi-trillion parameter models.
