AMD has officially confirmed warranty coverage for the Ryzen 9600X and Ryzen 9700X processors and introduced a higher Thermal Design Power (TDP) option of 105 watts. These 6-core and 8-core CPUs initially had a default TDP of 65 watts. The new 105W TDP option allows users to achieve increased processing power, ensuring the CPUs can maintain higher performance levels during demanding tasks without sacrificing reliability. In our testing, it did not yield a lot of extra performance though, not worth it to the extent of an extra 40 Watts.

A leaked Geekbench 6 benchmark reveals results for the Intel Core Ultra 9 285 non-K variant, shared by BenchLeaks on platform X, suggest that this CPU may not perform as well as AMD's Ryzen 7 9700X. Tested on an ASUS Prime Z890-P motherboard, the Core Ultra 9 285 scored 14,150 in multicore tests and 3,081 in single-core tests. In comparison, the Ryzen 7 9700X achieved higher scores of up to 19,381 in multicore and 3,624 in single-core tests. These results indicate that the non-K variant of Intel's Core Ultra 9 285 might be less competitive than AMD's offerings in the high-end CPU market.
