It's been silent with new graphics card releases from Nvidia. We've mentioned it a couple of times already, we really do not expect Volta with HBM2 to reach consumer grade graphics anytime soon. The chatter is about to get big as the first indications are here that Nvidia will be launching a GA104, a GPU called Ampere, on April 12th.

A lot has been said and written about Microsofts telemetry data collection. One part of it is that the company collects 'diagnostic data'. It was earlier on hinted that there would be an option to block that functions, which it now can. But in the new Insiders build Microsoft introduces a button that will delete all collected diagnostic data.

NVIDIA reported record revenue for the fourth quarter ended January 28, 2018, of $2.91 billion, up 34 percent from $2.17 billion a year earlier, and up 10 percent from $2.64 billion in the previous quarter. GAAP earnings per diluted share for the quarter were a record $1.78, up 80 percent from $0.99 a year ago and up 34 percent from $1.33 in the previous quarter.

New Set of Far Cry 5 trailers

Ubisoft released two new Far Cry 5 trailers introducing the game’s “Guns for Hire” and “Fang for Hire” characters. In an effort to take back Hope County from the Project at Eden’s Gate, players must enlist citizens, or animals, across Montana who will help form a resistance. These citizens include Nick Rye, Grace Armstrong, Boomer, Jess Black, Hurk, Adelaide Drubman, and Sharkey Boshaw, as well as Boomer, “The Good Boy.” Far Cry 5 is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 27.

Exploring the limits of real time rendering

Ex DICE artist Ren, shared a video on his forest project, showing the graphical capabilities of Unreal Engine 4 and explores the limits of real-time rendering. Ren aims to release a tech demo that combines Scifi, AI, robotics, nature and a story as a first introduction to the universe he is shaping in the near future. This will be a playable experience showcasing that developing high-end 4K graphics is the future, and this tech demo will ignore performance, memory, technical limitations and will purely focus on getting closer to photo-realistic visuals.

Shadow of War Expansion Available

If you are in to the genre, this LC is entitled Blade of Galadriel and it picks up after the events that take place during the conclusion of Shadow of War. Rather than filling the usual role of series protagonist Talion, this expansion now finds you in the role of the elf Eltariel–also known as the Blade of Galadriel–a character that those who have played Shadow of War should be familiar with. To coincide with the release of this expansion, Warner Bros. and Monolith Productions released a new trailer for Blade of Galadriel which details more of what players can expect to see take place throughout the course of the DLC.
