AMD Radeon HD 7970, 7950, 7870 Price Cuts

Guru3D.com ImageAMD is lowering prices on their graphics cards, that should kick in today. The Radeon HD 7970, Radeon HD 7950, and Radeon HD 7870 are all getting official price cuts.

The 7970 will be dropping from $479 to $429, the 7950 from $399 to $349, and the 7870 from $349 to $299.

Buffalo TS5600D 6-Bay NAS Server

Buffalo is about to release their newest 6-bay NAS server, the TS5600D. Powered by a 2.10GHz Intel Atom dual-core processor, the device is equipped with a 2GB DDR3 RAM, an optional 6TB, 12TB, 18TB or 24TB of pre-installed storage, six SATA HDD bays, 2x USB 2.0 ports, 3x USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet and supports for multiple RAID setups (0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 51). The TS5600D will go on sale from mid-August, prices are to be announced.

AMD desktop Trinity CPUs delayed to October?

Guru3D.com ImageDigiTimes learned that AMD delayed its desktop Trinity APUs from August to October in order to make some adjustments to the processors' designs.

Downstream motherboard makers are also rushing to make adjustments to their new motherboard projects set to release in the second half, according to sources from motherboard makers. In addition to production and design issues with the Trinity processors, AMD's previous-generation Llano processor's high inventory levels which need to be digested are reportedly one of the reasons that AMD decided to delay the launch of Trinity. However, AMD did not confirm the speculation. Many Socket FM2-based processors including A10-5800k will be delayed.

In other news the site also mentiones that three new AM3+ Vishera chips are expected in October -- In October, AMD also plans to launch three new AM3+ Vishera-based processors (Volan) including FX-8350 (125W/95W) and FX6300, with FX-4320 to be launched at a later time.

Kontron reveals Tegra 3 based desktop motherboard

Kontron has developed the KTT30/mITX, a new 170mm x 170mm Mini-ITX motherboard that's based around NVIDIA's Tegra 3 SoC. The board can run most distributions of Linux for ARM (including Android and Chrome OS) and should be capable of running Microsoft's upcoming Windows 8 RT.

The GPU can mange 1080p displays and pbviously H264 MPEG-4 encoding/decoding acceleration.

Display outputs include HDMI 1.4a (up to 1920x1080 pixels), and LVDS 24-bit (up to 2048x1536 pixel @ 18bpp). The Kontron KTT30/mITX packs 2 GB of DDR3L memory. For storage, it has an mSATA 3 Gb/s port, two SD card slots, and a bootable eMMC slot. Two mPCIe slots and a SIM card slot (for 3G HSDPA) handle on-board expansion. System interfaces include two RS232 (serial/COM), three USB 2.0. Apart from 3G HSDPA, the board supports gigabit Ethernet. For audio, there's 2-channel analog and multi-channel digital (S/PDIF) audio outputs. The board draws power from a 2-pin DC input.
