Ryzen 9 9950X3D/9900X3D Match Ryzen 7 9800X3D Gaming: AMD Exec Speaks Out

Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn 0

teaser
AMD is set to introduce the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D processors, which are projected to offer gaming performance on par with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. AMD’s Product and Business Development Manager Martijn Boonstra detailed that while performance may vary slightly among different titles, the overall gaming experience across these models will be nearly equivalent. The Ryzen 9 9900X3D features 12 cores and the Ryzen 9 9950X3D includes 16 cores, compared to the eight cores found in the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Although higher core counts suggest improved capability in tasks that use multi-threading, most current games are optimized for eight or fewer cores. As such, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D may maintain a slight advantage in certain gaming contexts due to its optimized design on a single computing die. The incremental core increases in the Ryzen 9 chips are more relevant for specific productivity and multi-threaded applications, where additional cores contribute directly to performance gains.
