The Guru's Verdict ...

Conclusion - You know, it's a great little box. It does everything it was designed to do. Also, Linksys keeps adding new features to it with each new firmware release. Its Web-based setup, good speed, 4-port 10/100 full-duplex switch, firewall capabilities, and at $150 online, it is the best home gateway/router that you can buy. When set up correctly, it provides a modest level of security. For PPPoE users, it might give you some problems, but upgrading the firmware to 1.36 should cure it. For VPN users, the Linksys supports that as well. For home users who just want to share an Internet connection, the Linksys cannot be beaten. For gamers the Linksys won't disappoint, but just try not to host any internet games. It would have saved me a few days of frustration if Linksys had included a CAT-5 cable. That's my only bad comment on this router! I do recommend you just get one, even if you don't need it, and figure out what to do with it later.
