Tuniq Miniplant 950 PSU review

Here's the Miniplant 950W, amazing small design for so much power distribution. All the way on top we see a 135mm fan, utilizing Smart Fan technology.

The fixed cables at the back-end are long enough for most installs, making the Tuniq a fine option for those who wish to place the PSU in the bottom of the case or require longer than average power supply cables.  All connectors are clearly labeled, good stuff. All cables are nicely sleeved as well. Colored black ... exactly what it's supposed to be.

  • Power supply unit
  • Power Cord
  • Instruction Manual
  • 5.25" to SATA adapter cable
  • 2x PCI-E 8-pin extension cable
  • 10x cable ties

We spot the PSU and wall cable of course as well as five adapter cables.  These adapter cables include two 8-pin to 6-pin PCI-E adapters, two Molex 'Y' extensions with three connectors each and one Molex to SATA adapter.  We also see a manual, mounting screws and ten 150mm hook and loop cable ties for keeping the extra line out of the way.  The last is a good extra considering the Tuniq Ensemble is not a modular unit.

At the front we see a huge mesh allowing lot's of airflow, and also a glimpse in the PSU.

On top we see a 135 mm fan, the PSU is reasonably quiet. No second fan to preserve the small size of the unit.

If you look at the label closely you'll notice that the PSU can peak at 950 Watts, powah !
