OCZ Vendetta CPU cooler review

Let's have a look at the most interesting fact of the Vendetta, the copper base. As you can see there is no solid base on the Vendetta, OCZ worked with Xigmatek's design and actually exposed heat pipes.

The concept is very interesting as not only is it much cheaper to build (less copper needed and no molded copper-block) by removing the base plate and putting the pipes straight to the CPU they hope to improve heat transfer efficiency. Make no mistake, the surface is extremely flat and as our tests will show, the design works well. Be sure to remove the plastic protection film before installing.

No OCZ product without some branding. OCZ's logo stamped in to the fins along with dimples. Well, it looks good to be honest.

The mounting fan we'll need to position on the cooler.

This is what's clever .. damn cheap to do yet small ‘T’ shaped rubber mounts secure the fan onto the cooler. Very simple, very effective as it's made of rubber and thus is also quiet and vibration free. Much easier to use than the weird wire clips that you normally need to secure the fan with.
