Today's product test is all about that, it's 667 MHz capable DDR2 memory from OCZ in the their high performing Gold series. PC2-5400 with some lovely timings available: 4-4-4-8. All that in a nice paired Dual Channel package bringing 1 GB of high quality memory to your system.

Once bought, you immediately recognize the OCZ products due to the heat spreaders. It looks nice and it actually makes installing the modules a lot easier as you have more grip. The effectiveness cooling wise can be discussed though. Anyway under it is some of the fastest memory available. Memory for us overclocking and tweaking geeks has to not only perform good, it has to look good as there is stiff competition out there. Corsair, Mushkin, Geil, OCZ, Crucial, PDP (Patriot memory) are all fighting hard to reach that 1% of geeks that want the memory with the fastest timings.
The Gold series products are claimed to be hand-tested products and matched for dual-channel. This way OCZ can offer the highest performing sticks to you. The heat spreaders I just mentioned might look goldish on the outside, yet they are made from copper, which of course is an excellent cooler.
Today's product comes from that lovely Gold line and is a 2x 512 MB memory kit that allows up-to 675 MHz memory operations at very aggressive 4-4-4-8 RAM timings and even then it should have a little reserve, if you can boost the memory with enough voltage that is. With high performing memory these days you need to pull some Frankenstein maneuvers.
