OCZ ATV Turbo 4GB memory stick

By: Hilbert Hagedoorn | Edited by Dave | Published: November 27, 2007

So I'm really not doing the technical briefing on flash-memory here okay ? I mean it's a memory stick for crying out loud. I do have a very hard time believing that the stick really can write data at the advertised speed. We'll test this with a RAW data file-copy (we'll copy a 2GB compressed file towards the stick and measure write speed). And we'll use some synthetic software to measure.

But first, let me show you a couple of photo's:

The (blister) packaging. And yes, a glass of water. Getting cold wet feet already ?

Once unpacked this is your stick. Despite the fact it looks like plastic, it's made out of a soft rubber.

Quite frankly it doesn't give me the impression it'll survive our water-test. The rubber coating does help with shock resistance though. It'll protect the stick when it drops on the floor or something.

Well the backside... really I dunno what to write here.

Ooh, an LED shows when enabled, this thing is just full of surprises  :)
