Enermax Galaxy 1000 Watt PSU review

Notice the green LED and below it, the button? That's the PowerGuard. It uses a small LED light and internal buzzer to indicate current power supply status.

Under abnormal situations, the PowerGuard will turn off the power supply to protect your system and will start beeping while the LED displays a diagnostic, like the color orange would be stand-by mode, RED woud be the PSU in protection mode (no power on any component), blinking red would be a malfunctioning PSU fan. A pretty nice feature for sure. The red button is being used to disable that alarm. And on the backside you'll find the secondary fan.

Here we see connectors for six peripheral modular cables. These connectors are color coded black. The dark red connectors on your left are two additional dedicated PCI-Express modular cables, the two 12 volts rails. You'll also notice the 24 pin mainboard connector which was introduced with PCI-Express mainboards.

Here we see some of the the 6+2-Pin PCI-Express Power Connectors.

I couldn't leave you completely out of the blue. Yes a card we are not allowed to talk about.  So you are looking at a red demon that sucks 75 Watts over PCI-Express, another 75 over the 6-pin power connector and if that isn't enough, it can pull another 150 Watts over that 8-pin connector.
