This is where we dive into the photo-shoot, and show you a couple of mug-shots of the Penryn. From there on we'll start testing the processor and compare it with processors like the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650, QX6850 and Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600.

Here we have the new Core 2 Extreme QX9770 Quad-Core Processor processor being used today. This model runs on a 1600 MHz front side bus. It'll bring you an amount performance that is unprecedented.

And no, I didn't write that QX9770 in red on there :)

Indeed, the new 45nm processors are still using Socket 775. That doesn't mean you can use 45nm Penryn products in any Socket 775 mainboard though.

Be sure to check with your mainboard manufacturer. If supported at the very least you'll need a BIOS upgrade and an Intel x35/38 or NVIDIA nForce 780/790 mainboard.
